Lawyers for Novice Range Drink Driving
Novice Range Drink Driving is when a provisional or learner driver is caught driving with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of between 0.001 – 0.019g of alcohol per 100mls of blood.
What are the penalties?
The compulsory penalty for this offence is disqualification, except in circumstances where the magistrate awards a section 10 dismissal or conditional release order.
A non conviction order is where a defendant admits their guilt, but the magistrate agrees not to convict them.
Obtaining a non conviction order means that you will not be disqualified or fined.
What if it’s my first offence?
If you haven’t been convicted of a major traffic offence within the last five years, you could get a disqualification period of up to six months.
The magistrate can reduce this to a minimum of three months, and the maximum fine you will have to pay is $1,100.
